Female directors in the boardroom and intellectual capital performance: Does the “critical mass” matter?

Abstract This research aims to investigate the influence of female directors on Intellectual Capital Performance (ICP) using a sample manufacturing-listed companies in China. Our study investigates link between having two or more and Modified Value-Added Coefficient (MVAIC) methodology, employing critical mass theory from 2004–2017. We find that (three more) shows significant positive impact MVAIC its components, including human capital efficiency, structural relational physical with being driver. reveals participation substantially influences IC efficiency privately owned compared state-owned companies.
